Sivane Hirsch is a Professor at the Department of Education at the University of Quebec at Trois –Rivières (UQTR). She holds a PhD in sociology (Paris- Descartes, Sorbonne) and in education (Université Laval, Canada) and is particularly interested in the place religious and cultural diversity occupy in schools and how their manifestations contribute to students’ identity as well as the relations between ethnic communities. She is also documenting the challenges teachers face when treating social acute questions in regards to religious matters in classrooms.
